This program provides a way to validate whether a given user has a
particular password, and optionally, whether they belong to a
particular group.

In order to work, the program needs root permissions on the target
system.  That is, you must be logged in as root to use it.

Alternatively, you can configure 'sudo' to allow this program to be
run by selected users.
